John Ashberry Repents

Poetry Daily is reporting that John Ashberry is taking it back. "It was just a joke I started and could never get out from under it. My poems are absolutely meaningless. They're just a collage of magazine articles I've read and stitched together with Elmer's Glue. From this day onwards I am writing sonnets in meter and rhyme with meaning and rhetorical sense. I apologize to all in the avant garde. There is no damned avant. There is no damned garde. There's just this week's copy of Vanity Fair."
