Thank you Mark. But I was hoping to avoid this one. I have a great dislike for those emails that say blah blah blah, and pass this on to ten other people or you will get Cesium poisoning. Grrrr. But since there appears to be no such threat behind this one, I should play nice.
So, this is really going to bore you. I’m about as ordinary as John Doe. But here goes:
You're stuck inside Fahrenheit 451, which book do you want to be?
Tough one. I guess I’d want something with a sense of humor so Moby Dick is out. So I guess it would have to be "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn." If that had been taken, “Roughing It” would do.
Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?
Not since the breathtaking Jane in the “Dick and Jane” series back in first grade.
The last book you bought is:
Martin Cruz Smith “Wolves Eat Dogs”
The last book you read:
"Collected Poems of Weldon Kees" just nudged out a guilty pleasure not to be named.
What are you currently reading?
-Martin Cruz Smith “Wolves Eat Dogs” Great setting: in the Evacuation Zone around Chernobyl
-rereading Hunter S Thompson “The Great Shark Hunt” RIP
-and nightly reading a few poems from someone, last night, Frost, of course.
-ongoing every night: The Journals of Henry David Thoreau (since July 10, 2004 to be exact.)
Five books you would take to a deserted island:
“Illustrated Deserted Island Fauna and Flora”
“Field Guide to the Night Sky”
“Collected Shakespeare”
“Twentieth Century American Poetry” edited by Gioia Mason Schoerke (I love this collection, and it just nudged out the Collected Frost, which I would probably sneak in anyways as a sixth choice unbeknownst to the Keeper of the Stick, risking that I’d be beat over the head with it if they discovered my crime.)
“Collected Thoreau”
As to three people:
Well, I'm cheating and limiting it to one direct invitation:
Brian Campbell because no one sent it to him, but he answered anyways, and now he has to play with others and send it to 3 other people.
And an open invitation to everyone else on my blogroll who hasn't been handed the stick. We should all suffer together.

Wish I had thought of "Field GUide to the Night Sky," since one can assume said island is remote from any light pollution...
I'm hoping I remembered to pack a telescope too.
The guide to flora and fauna is a great idea, especially if they happen to mention food value. And have a collection of recipes....
