Just wondering. When our scorecards are tallied after the fall, how will they rate the poets? When on the brink of some kind of ecological Armageddon, will they wonder why these sensitive ones failed to feel the tipping of the balance? Will they ask why some concerned themselves with deconstruction rather than re-creation? Will they ask why formalists concerned themselves with appearances rather than content? And will they wonder when the mainstream became so goddamned stagnant? Or will there only be a grateful silence?
