Not the Golden Globe Awards

Endangered Creations

The Mayan Michelangelo
appeared in New York yesterday
with brilliant polychrome creations.
Each one could be purchased for a song.

There was water, liquid miracle
impossible to grasp with just two hands;
the sky, invisible chameleon;
and the land beneath our ground.

But paradise had reached a tipping
point in recent years and steadily
grew deeper in the process of
collapsing through such presentation,

although no one thinks the other
standing next to him would let it spiral
out of sight. Although it happens
all the time. But certainty is something

never disbelieved. Although it’s something
no one’s ever seen for sure—on earth.
Until Atlantis or some other worldly
vision sinks beneath its curvature.
