Invocation [blank verse] Sonnet

Somewhere in that inaccessible
dimension, out beyond our time and space
continuum, the energies they once
called deities are oscillating to
the greater frequencies of quantum meta-
physics. You can’t see them in the streets
or speak to them on wireless, and no one knows
the motivational procedures needed
for their know-how in the workplace. But
believe in their existence just because
the universe is more than you can fathom
and coincidence will soon reveal
to you their message. That was good enough
for Homer, and by gods, enough for me.
