The engineers are getting therapy.
This universe was not drawn out on paper
they are being told. Your hand cannot
pass through a table like a butter knife.
And chaos isn’t just some paradigm—
it’s fact. Their eyes commence to blink in time.
Beginning to remember past traumatic
episodes like traffic circles never
regulating traffic as they’re planned
or gaskets never sealing things up tight,
they break apart. Their skulls begin to leak.
Their arms go flying through the air without
direction. What is going on they cry!
They shudder as their world begins to die.

Just noticed your drafting blog? themust.blogspot. A marvelous idea that I'd never thought of before. It's educational to be able to see the progression in a fellow poet's mind, to see those dangerous choices of diction.
