There River
The river has resided in
my blood for thirteen years, its current
feeding every energetic
cell within the galaxy
I call myself. It’s there each morning
when the sun is recreating
means of all production, there
each noon when cormorants perform
their imitations of the coin
of empire, there each evening when
the gods and goddesses of Greek
and Roman nature end my world.
