The big three in sonnet sequences from the Elizabethan time zone were Shakespeare, Sidney, and Spenser. Of course, the Bard is the General Motors of the bunch. Spenser’s a Chrysler. But I’ll take Philip Sidney, my Model T. The complete “Astrophel and Stella” can be test-driven here.
