Unbelievable 01:09 - the matter of consciousness
Peter Russel and the Wave of the Sentient Universe

Peter Russel in ‘From Science to God” speaks to a consideration that perhaps the assumed paradigm that matter somehow developed consciousness may have it all wrong. Perhaps all matter is conscious, in some form. And evolution instead is a continuing growth of this consciousness. Like a wave increasing in size as it nears the shore. Perhaps our nervous system with its brain is an amplifier of that shared consciousness, and not its origin. And as that amplified consciousness developed speech, and then in turn the inner speech of thought, it, in the end, become self-aware, aware of its own awareness. Like a wave on the shore turning inward before the surf.
